Scouts and Guides rally for peace

SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Bharat Scouts and Guides (MBSG) conducted a route march on the occasion of International Day of Peace on Thursday in which over 200 students took part to chant for world peace.

The route march which was flagged off from MBSG office at Pine Mount Ridge, Laban saw the participation of 16 schools from across Shillong.

At the rally, voices of “We want world peace,” “We are peace messengers”, resounded on the road during busy morning hours as the participants rallied from the MBSG office and walked all the way to Khyndai Lad and back to the office.

Prior to the route march, Director of Sports and Youth, Matsiewdor War, Chief guest of the programme, urged the youth to focus on promoting peace and denounce terror.

She lauded the effort of the MBSG in taking the initiative to organise the rally.
