BSF personnel engaged in a cleaning drive at Shillong Golf Course on Tuesday. Around 250 BSF men took part in the two-hour drive initiated by A Asthana, Deputy Inspector General, Shillong a day after The Shillong Times reported about the pollution caused to the landmark by tourists every day. Taking cognizance of the ST report on June 21, the Frontier Headquarter, BSF, Shillong in a statement said, “It is pertinent to mention that feelings of civic sense cannot be compelled in the people and it has to come from inside. The BSF said it had earlier conducted similar drives in Nongmynsong and Polo areas. (ST)
