Holy Quran in Khasi language released

SHILLONG: In a historic moment,  the religious book of the Muslims, “ The Holy Quran” was released in the local Khasi language here in the city on Saturday

The Holy Quran which has been translated into Khasi language is the initiative of the Seng Bhalang Islam and the Holy Qura has 1251  pre pages and pages.

The Holy Quran was released by Phulbari MLA, SG Estamur Mominin in presence of  South Shillong MLA, Sanbor Shullai , Sartaz Ahmed, Scholar from Kanpur,   retired NEHU Professor, K Ismail amongst others.

Speaking on the occasion, Mominin lauded the  Seng Bhalang Islam for taking up the difficult task of challenging Holy quran into Khasi language

He said that  translation of Holy Quran is taking place in the world since centuries and  renowned scholars from different communities had tried to translate Quran into different languages

“ With this translation people would come to know what the Holy Quran says and it would be of great benefit for people  even from other communities to know what is there in Quran,” he said.

Terming it as a historic moment, he said that it is important for the people to read Quran carefully and try to implement the sayings of the holy book in their lives.

Mubarak Lyngdoh, president of the Seng Bhalang Islam said that they decided to translate Quran into Khasi since people have been asking them about what is Quran and what does it say

He said that they have an editorial board and it took them 12  years to translate the holy book from English to Khasi and it was also given to well-known scholars for correction

He said that everyone should know about the Quran since the holybook was revealed not only for Muslims but for the entire humanity
