Young Reds to play Hero Elite League Play-Offs

SHILLONG: Shillong Lajong U-18s departed from Shillong on Thursday to play the Hero Elite League Play-Offs in Goa.
Young Reds finished in second place during the zonal round of the Hero Elite League (Shillong-Guwahati Zone) with 18 points while SAI Guwahati were the table toppers with 21 points and have advanced to the final round of the league. The zonal round was held from October to December 2018 in Shillong and Guwahati.
Shillong Lajong Juniors have been placed in Group II for the playoffs and will take on Aizawl FC in their first game at the Navelim Ground on January 16.
The young reds’ squad consists of Freestar Kharbangar (Meghalaya), Thongram Santosh Singh (Manipur), Donboklang Lyngdoh (Meghalaya), Rajat Paul Lyngdoh (Meghalaya), Apborlang Kurbah (Meghalaya), Baiaikara Swer (Meghalaya), Kitboklang Khyriem (Meghalaya), Bishal Lama (Sikkim), Muhammed Safique Ahmed (Manipur), Naoroibam Romen Singh (Manipur), Habymmutshuh Nongrum (Meghalaya), C. Vanlalhriata (Mizoram), Denzil gorby Warjri (Meghalaya), Aman Ahlawat (Haryana), Solomon Mangte (Manipur), Batskhemlang Thangkhiew (Meghalaya), Aenam Graffenberg Jyrwa (Meghalaya), Remark Kharmalki (Meghalaya), Parvaj Bhuiya (Tripura) Maxderidoff Wahlang (Meghalaya).
The head coach is Bobby Nongbet .
