British-era Sonapani project commissioned By Our Reporter  SHILLONG: The revived Sonapani mini hydro electric project (1.54 mw capacity), a British-era project, was formally commissioned by Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma here on Thursday. The heritage hydel project was first commissioned in 1922 and after supplying electricity to Shillong for more than six decades, the project was shut down in April 1982 as the machines had outrun their utility.
